Nenthenhoi Baite completed her schooling at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, securing 72% in Class 10 and 75% in Class 12.
Her father, Thongkhothang Baite, works as a farmer-coolie, cultivating land that belongs to the village chief. Her mother, Tinkhochin Baite, is a homemaker.
Nenthenhoi has two younger brothers and one younger sister. One of her brothers is a special child, while the other is studying in Class 8. Her younger sister is in Class 5. The family lives under the authority of the village chief and manages with her father’s meagre income. In addition, they receive limited support through the Below Poverty Line (BPL) scheme, which provides subsidized food grains and access to certain welfare programs offered by the government for economically weaker families.
