She completed her 10th standard at Model English Higher Secondary School, Saikul, and her 12th standard at Eklavya Model Residential School, Gamnom Saporme, Manipur, securing 72% marks.
She lost her father, Jangsat Kipgen, in 2012, and her mother, Hathem Kipgen, in 2023. Her mother was also one of the victims of the recent conflict, during which her house was burnt to ashes.
Chinneilam belongs to a tribal community and currently lives iin Chennai and her siblings live n a relief camp (four sisters and one brother), depending on the support of their community organization. Her elder sister contributes by doing weaving work and earning a small daily wage, which is used to support the family.
Despite these hardships, Chinneilam has continued to pursue her education. Her favourite subject is Home Science, and she aspires to become a professional nurse in the future, driven by her ambition to serve others and build a stable life for herself and her family.
