Kaniston S is studying B.Sc Computer Science 1^st year at Loyola College, Chennai. Kaniston’s father, Mr. Salamon, had a small tea shop in Kudankulam, Thirunelveli, which ran at a loss and had to be closed. Following this, he became an alcoholic. His mother, who was normal up until then, slowly developed psychiatric issues. Due to their financial difficulties, Kaniston had to discontinue his studies in the 6th std between 2016 and 2018, as they could not afford the fees. As his mother’s illness worsened, his father’s addiction to alcohol deepened, and in 2018, he tragically committed suicide.

Kaniston and his mother were brought to Chennai by their relatives and placed in the Little Drops Home in Paraniputhur. From 2019 onward, Kaniston resumed his education. He completed his 8th std at Govt. Middle School, Pattur, and his 9th and 10th std at St. Thomas Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Chennai, where he scored 73%. He then completed his higher secondary education at MCC School, Chetpet, with a score of 81%. His mother also resides in Little Drops Home, where she receives medical treatment.

Kaniston is passionate about volleyball and has represented both  zonal and district teams. In addition to his studies, he volunteers after college hours at the Little Drops Home, helping the residents. He also visits nearby companies to collect leftover food from their canteens and brings it back to the Home for the residents
