Sharumathi completed her 10th at Sacred Heart Convent, Srivilliputtur, scoring 71.8%. She then pursued a Diploma at PSR Polytechnic College, Sivakasi, and scored 3924 out of 4200 (93.4%),
Her father, Mr. Ganesan, works as a scrap collector and supports the family. Her mother, Mrs. Padma, is a homemaker who takes care of the household.
